Rancho Cordova splits cleanly along Sunrise Boulevard for our purposes. West of it, the older Cordova Meadows and Mather-adjacent neighborhoods are largely 1950s and 1960s construction, much of it originally built as housing connected to Mather Field, with compact masonry fireplaces and clay tile flues that are now well past sixty years old. East of Sunrise, Anatolia and the Sunridge developments are twenty-first century builds running factory-built fireplaces and direct-vent gas appliances.
